With their blend of jazz and rock, psychedelic folk sound, experimental style, and improvisational performances, Gevende has been one of the most beloved and prominent bands in Turkey’s alternative music scene for over twenty years. Founded in 2000 in Eskişehir, the band released their debut album “Ev” in 2006, followed by a touring journey with stops in Iran, Pakistan, India and Nepal. After this special journey, the band continued to perform in various locations in Europe. Their soundpainting project with the French group Balbazar and their numerous collaborations with local and global artists were closely followed and praised by their audience. Following the release of their 2011 album “Sen Balık Değilsin Ki”, the acclaimed band composed the soundtrack for the award-winning video game Monochroma in 2014. A year later, Gevende released an album and a video of their unforgettable live performance at The Church of St. Anthony of Padua. Their most recent album “Kınardı” was released in 2017. After a brief hiatus, the band returned to the stage with their one-of-a-kind performances.
