TEOMAN

One of the most popular rock singers of Turkey from the 90s, Teoman is known for his lyrics, stories and vocals. He tells humorous yet tragic, ordinary but somehow magical stories of strong but fragile characters. For almost thirty years, his songs often act as the voice of existential loneliness in metropolitan cities. Teoman first gained mainstream attention in 1997 when he won the prize at the first edition of “Roxy Music Days”, and released his debut album. Following his debut, albums “O”, “17”, and “Gönülçelen” skyrocketed his popularity, he became one of the most loved and recognized musicians in Turkey. In addition to his many albums and creations, he also took on the role of a writer and published his autobiography. After a hiatus, he continued to compose and produce many albums. In 2018, he released an album, “Koyu Antoloji”, featuring 26 of his songs reproduced in a Cohen-esque style characterized by darker, lower and sometimes in a whispering voice. In recent years, Teoman continued to strip down his songs and focus even more on his lyrics. With this style he released “Teoman ve Piyano”, in which a piano accompanies his vocals, and “Tek Başına (Live), a home concert recording with vocals and guitar.
