GÖREME VALLEY CYCLE TOUR (SEMI-HARD COURSE)

Göreme Valley Cycle Tour offers an opportunity for you to have a closer look at the hidden churches of Göreme, and the most beautiful fairy chimneys and dovecotes of the region.

This route will begin at the Castle of Uçhisar, where you can enjoy an easy freewheel through the village. On this route down into Pigeon Valley, you can stop and enjoy the incredible scenery, then from there, a long descent on a well surfaced dirt road takes us to Göreme. Meandering through the old streets you will leave the village and arrive at the Swords Valley, an area of stunning natural beauty and history, surrounded by fairy chimneys and early Byzantine cave churches. From there, you will follow some easy singletrack mountain bike trails to reach the monastery complex, and then soon arrive in Çavuşin village, where refreshments are available.

After a visit to the 6th century church named St. John the Baptist, we carry on through incredible scenery and marvel at the rock formations at Paşabağ. Near our final destination, an easy ride on flat dirt tracks brings us to Zelve - an open air museum of cave dwellings that were populated in the 1950’s. With an optional walking tour around the historic site, you will complete the parkour.
